A field trip allows students and teachers to get out of the formal context of the classroom and cultivate shared experiences. Additionally, field trips are important because students are able to engage with content in a variety of ways.
Our Pine City Bears are deepening their knowledge of local history. Through a community partnership with the Chemung County Historical Society, second graders visited the museum and discovered a treasure trove of local artifacts. A fun scavenger hunt lead students around exhibits in search for clues hidden within the collections. These relics provide a closer look at how people in our community lived in the past.
