Elmira Express Athletes in service!
Ninth grade student athletes are facilitating a give-back project with young Express students in grades K-6. Together, students are working together to craft for 500+ elderly residents this holiday season living at Elcor, Bethany and Chemung County Nursing.
W20 Foundation and the Project Team Up 4 Community out of Westhampton Beach, NY learned about this project and submitted it to the NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge. Congratulations to our students for this recognition and thank you to Jessica Janowsky and Tim Reidy for their educational leadership!
The NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge provides schools and sports teams the opportunity to showcase community service projects, demonstrating their commitment and impact in the community. The NYSPHSAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will select the State winner each season. NYSPHSAA is partnering with Team Up 4 Community to because they have the website platform and similar mission (promoting social responsibility and community giveback through athletics).
