The Elmira City School District’s afterschool program, ARCADE, will begin its 10th year on October 2, 2023 and run until May 3, 2024.   ARCADE is a free program for students in grades 3rd-6th at Beecher, Hendy, Broadway, and Parley Coburn. The program operates three hours per day, beginning at the end of the regular school day. Each site will be accepting 75 students. The program maintains a waiting list each year with names of interested families after enrollment is filled. ARCADE bussing is provided for all participants.

ARCADE offers many academic, enrichment, and recreation opportunities for students, including:

• Tutoring for students who require it
• Homework assistance and supervision
• Intentional social and emotional support for all students
• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities
• Health and fitness classes offered
• Opportunities for community service
• Mentoring and life skills
• Career exploration
• Youth development activities
• In addition, activities and workshops to assist parents in supporting their children’s education and development

ARCADE is an enrollment program, NOT a drop-in program. Regular attendance is expected due to grant regulations. Enrollment forms will be available in the main office/classroom or you can download and print the form here. If you are interested in signing your child/children up, please contact your school's main office. 

Schedule of the 3rd – 6th grade program is as follows:

2:20/2:25 – 3:00: Snack and sign in
3:00 – 4:00: Tutor/ HW and Read 180
4:00 – 5:00: Enrichment Activities
5:00 – 5:25: Bus/parent pick up and REC time
