The Elmira City School District’s afterschool program, ARCADE, will begin its ninth year on October 3rd, 2022.   ARCADE is a free program for students in grades 3rd-6th at Beecher, Hendy, Broadway, and Parley Coburn. The program operates three hours per day, beginning at the end of the regular school day. Each site will be accepting 70 students.

ARCADE offers many academic, enrichment, and recreation opportunities for students, including:

• Tutoring for students who require it
• Homework assistance and supervision
• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities, many provided by community organizations such as The Science and Discovery Center
• Health and fitness classes offered, as well as a Yoga initiative being taught by Namaste Spa and Wellness
• Special programs from Cornell Cooperative, First Tee (golf), Dynamic Ceramics, Tanglewood, Wings of Eagles, and Boy Scouts
• Opportunities for community service
• Youth development activities
• In addition, activities and workshops to assist parents in supporting their children’s education and development

ARCADE is an enrollment program, NOT a drop-in program. Regular attendance is expected due to grant regulations. Enrollment forms will be available in the main office/classroom or you can download and print the form here. If you are interested in signing your child/children up, please contact your school's main office. 

Schedule of the 3rd – 6th grade program is as follows:

2:20/2:25 – 3:00: Snack and sign in
3:00 – 4:00: Tutor/ HW and Read 180
4:00 – 5:00: Enrichment Activities
5:00 – 5:25: Bus/parent pick up and REC time
