Academy of Finance

At the Elmira High School Academy of Finance (AOF), we engage students by using Business and Finance as a lens through which everyday problems are analyzed, approached and solved. Students learn how to think as professionals and rediscover the wonder and joy of learning.

The Elmira High School AOF began in the Fall of 2017. AOF enrollment is open to every student. To remain active in the AOF, students must meet certain academic and behavioral requirements. Students can obtain an AOF application through their School Counselor or Business Teacher.

Students are supported to meet the AOF requirements through one-on-one mentoring with business teachers, other high school staff and local business professionals.

Elmira High School proudly invites you to explore the challenging and expanding Finance Industry by joining our Academy of Finance (AOF) program. The Academy of Finance, a member of the NAF (National Academy Foundation) Network, is a three-year program that combines required, industry-based classes with work experience. Students will take specialized classes and have the opportunity to work in a paid internship at a local business or industry-specific related organization. Academy students are often invited to industry events and have opportunities to work with industry leaders and discuss career issues. The AOF embraces an open enrollment policy, however a completed application and interview are required for students to be accepted into the program and academic and attendance standards are required to be met to remain in the program.
