It is hard to believe that we are now planning for Summer 2020. As we transition from regular school year to summer, I am writing with specific updates to our meal distribution program. I appreciate your careful review of the information below as further action is required by participating families. Pre-registration of summer feeding is required. Please note that our current meal distribution process will expire on June 17, 2020.
Summer Meal Distribution will begin on June 25, 2020. Families must pre-register to receive summer meals by completing the registration found in the link below. Registration only needs to be completed once for the summer season.
We are pleased to increase summer meal distribution to include seven days’ worth of breakfast and lunch (in previous years, the summer meal distribution was five days per week). Meal pick-ups will occur once a week, on Thursdays, from June 25 – August 20, 2020. Please note that the form must be completed by Monday preceding the Thursday pick-up. The first meal pick-up will occur on June 25, 2020.
Our meal assistance and daily food distribution will continue at four school sites – Diven, Fassett, Broadway and Elmira High School. Two pick-up times are available for families to choose from on the survey (7:00am - 8:00am or 11:30am - 12:30pm). Families will receive seven (7) breakfast meals and seven (7) lunch meals for the number of students indicated on their registration form.
Our partners at Chemung County are available for families who may need assistance completing the registration. If you need help filling out the form, please call the 211 helpline.
