EHS Art Students Visit Art College in PhiladelphiaOn Sunday, November 6th, three talented EHS seniors: Taliya Gomez, Emma Pack, and Sierra White attended National Portfolio Day at Moore College of Art and Design.

This event is one of many similar events organized across the country throughout the fall, where numerous college representatives come together to provide feedback on the portfolios of students interested in pursuing art in college. It is an opportunity for students to explore different Visual and Performing Arts colleges, programs, and majors in their search while getting valuable fresh perspectives and insight on their own artwork and creative process.

Over 55 programs and art colleges had representatives set up for the day at Moore.

“Going to Philly was an enjoyable and helpful experience. I got a good idea of where I’m at with my work for my portfolio which is helpful for applications,” said Emma Pack after the trip.

Taliya Gomez added, “National Portfolio Day was something I am happy I got to attend. I got a lot of good feedback. Good feedback will better my portfolio and [my work] as a photographer in general.”

Taliya, Emma, and Sierra have spent several weeks putting together, editing, and refining their Art portfolios in preparation for the portfolio day.

They were accompanied by EHS Art teachers Allison Newkirk and Connie Swarthout on the trip down to Philadelphia, PA for the event.
