Broadway Academy Students RISE to the Occasion!
Youth civic engagement means working to make a difference in the life of your own community.
And Broadway Academy students are RISING to the occasion! When called upon to help within their city of Elmira, they not only rose to the occasion but showed up and showed out!
Beginning today, Friday May 20, and through the weekend, the City of Elmira and Habitat for Humanity are working with the Cites Responsible Investment and Strategic Enforcement (RISE), a neighborhood revitalization program launched by the NYS Attorney General’s Office to help rebuild New York communities. Our student volunteers helped with trimming hedges, cutting weeds, trash pick-up, minor exterior repairs to homes, and painting. Volunteers wore colorful t-shirts!
