A Healthy School Day Begins at Home
Posted on 09/09/2020
A Healthy School Day Begins at Home Per the guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Health, parents and guardians of hybrid students enrolled in the Elmira City School District will receive a daily home health screen by email each school morning that the student will attend in-person.

This health screen will be sent by email to parent addresses we have on file. Parents will receive a unique email, with a unique pin for login, per child enrolled in the Elmira City School District. The GST BOCES COVID SCREENING will be sent from [email protected]. Please be sure to check your SPAM/Junk email folders if you don’t see a message from this address in your Inbox. The email will be delivered by 5:30 a.m. If you do not receive an automated email, please call your child’s home school.

This daily home health screen, completed at home by a parent/guardian, is the first proactive attempt to a healthy school environment. The health screen will include a temperature check and will ask questions regarding symptoms and potential exposure to COVID-19.

Cohort A families should expect to receive the first GST BOCES COVID SCREENING on the morning of Thursday, September 10, 2020. Cohort B families should expect to receive the first GST BOCES COVID SCREENING on Friday September 11, 2020. Beginning Monday, September 14, the regular hybrid cohort schedule will resume.

We believe accountability for a healthy school day begins at home. We thank you in advance for monitoring your children’s health daily.
