2025 Summer Meal Sites and EBT Card InformationAt the Elmira City School District, we are deeply committed to serving the whole student—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our work doesn’t end when the school year does. We believe that in order for children to learn, grow, and thrive, their basic needs must be met year-round.

That’s why we proudly participate in the Summer Meal Sites Program, ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals when school is not in session. These summer sites are open, welcoming, and free to all children, regardless of where they attend school.

Information on NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, Summer EBT for Schools

The 2025 Summer EBT benefit amount of $120 per eligible child will be issued on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that the family can use just like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to purchase eligible food items at SNAP participating grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and other retailers. This program is an addition to free meals that children ages 18 and younger can get at summer meal sites in their communities.

The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is working closely with New York State Education Department (NYSED) on the implementation of Summer EBT. Visit OTDA.NY.gov/SummerEBT for updated program information

Proper nutrition is a cornerstone of student success. During the summer months, when school meals are not available, many families face food insecurity. Our summer meal sites help bridge that gap—supporting the health, well-being, and continued development of our students even when school is out.

By providing balanced meals in safe, accessible locations, the Elmira City School District continues to invest in the whole child—because every student deserves the chance to return to school ready to learn and succeed.
