The district offers a full range of interscholastic sports. Programs for students in grades 7-12 normally require attendance at practice five or six days per week for 2 to 2.5 hours each practice. There is a selection process for teams that involve competition with other schools in our league and section.  The Express Athletics Department offers school sports beginning in Grade 7. Levels of competition are based on age, grade and ability, are generally organized by:


Modified Level (Grades 7-8)
Junior Varsity and Varsity (Grades 9-12)
Unified Sports, Inclusive Athletics (Grades 9-12)

Winter Sports Information:
Registration opened on 10/17/25 for JV & Varsity Sports Grades 9-12. JV/V Season begins on 11/17/25.
Registration will open on 11/1/25 for Modified Sports Grades 7 & 8. Modified Season begins on 12/1/25

Sports Physicals will be done for any athlete that needs one on the following dates and locations:
Elmira High School - November 12, 2025 - 3:30-4:30pm
Ernie Davis Academy - November 20, 2025 - 3:30-4:30pm
Physicals are a first come first serve basis; no appointment necessary.  Each athlete getting a sports physical needs to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
