Broadway Academy Breakfast ClubWe believe that the collective work of community leaders, families, public and private agencies, along with the school district, can lead to sustainable improvement for our students and community.

Two mornings a week at Broadway Academy, mentors from the region meet with 9th grade students during the Broadway Breakfast Club before the school day begins. The Club members participate in activities from the YWCA Mentorship Program.  The club will continue with collaboration from the My Brother's Keeper grant -- providing a safe space for student members to connect with important role models.

The Club is also a way to increase trust and relationships in school for our students and families. Especially for our young men of color, better matched early childhood learning experiences, classroom teaching, peer supports, and community mentor practices help students achieve their potential.

In partnership with Corning Incorporated, the City of Light Church, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southside Community Center, the District received a 4-year grant for the Building Relationships Integral to Development of Genuine Engagement (BRIDGE) Project, which helps to improve outcomes for students. My Brother’s Keeper work is rooted in key milestones for our students, including keeping kids on track to high school graduation.

Thank you to A’Don Allen III, Babatunde Ayanfodun, Sharif King, Jarvis Marlow-McCowin, and Terrance Wilson – community members who are part of the My Brothers Keepers group -- for their time and dedication. We believe this collaboration will achieve improved outcomes for our students!
