Earth Day 2022Happy Earth Day! Today, and every day, remember to be kind to our planet and all of the creatures who inhabit it. What are you doing today to honor Earth Day?

In Elmira, we are honoring Mother Earth with special projects and programs that teach us about how to 'Invest in our Planet.' Students from across the District are engaged in Earth Day-themed art projects, planting, poetry and more.

In Mrs. Eden's third grade classroom at Broadway Elementary, students are writing haiku poetry with an Earth Day theme.

In Mrs. Olin's pre-kindergarten classroom at Pine City Elementary, students are wearing self-designed "I LOVE EARTH" crowns as a celebratory reminder of Earth Day.

In Mr. Liquori's first grade classroom at Fassett Elementary, students are picking up trash from around their school property as a way to take care of the earth around them.

At Elmira High School, Mrs. Clark and her students are thinking of new and innovative ways to kick-start a revised Green Club with new focuses for future years.

Pine City bears are planting seeds for their garden and have been taking care of their Dixie-cup seedlings all winter long. Along with a local Eagle Scout, staff are considering a perfect garden spot, including their composter, on school grounds.

In Mrs. Dufrain's third grade classroom at Broadway Elementary, students are sending a very clear and passionate message: "Reuse, Reduce, Renew, Recycle -- Happy Earth Day 2022 from Ms. Dufrain's 3rd Grade Class at Broadway Elementary School!"
