MLK, Jr. Day 2021The life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is honored across the District in classrooms, the library, and online.

In recognition of #MLKDay2021, our Elmira High School students recited the famous "I Have a Dream" speech delivered by American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington in 1963.

Listen closely to the words as our students beautifully recite portions of this iconic speech in a carefully curated video montage.

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education," ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The life and teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr. can be celebrated and honored even by young children.

MLK, Jr. taught people to solve problems nonviolently, promoting love and brotherhood.

Listen in as Mrs. Donovan, Riverside Principal, reads aloud a story about #MLKDay to her students during her nightly “Bedtime Stories” live ZOOM series.
