The Parent Child Resource Center, located at Booth School, is for parents with children ages 6 and under. It is open to all families, not just Elmira residents.
The PCRC offers many services, all at no cost:
The center is separated into different learning areas appropriate for young children. Activities include reading, dress-up, puzzles and much more.
Books and magazines are available to address a wide variety of parenting issues - nutrition, discipline and crafts, to name a few.
Workshops are held every month and cover a wide range of topics of concern to families. Parental input is key to determining workshop topics.
The PCRC opened in February 2000. It is made possible through a partnership with the Elmira City School District and the Junior League of Greater Elmira-Corning.
A monthly newsletter is available to families and agencies interested in the center.
