Macy's "Believe Campaign"

Our Diven Elementary students wrote letters to Santa Claus describing how they have helped make their school a better place. On December 12th, some of the students dropped off their stamped letters addressed to “Santa at the North Pole” at Macy’s at Arnot Mall for the Macy’s “Believe Campaign,” which will donate $2 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every letter received for “National Believe Day.”

 


2 Hour Delay

Ernie Davis Award Nominees Named

Congratulations to Jerry McPeak, who was named one of the four 2014 Ernie Davis Award finalists. The award is given annually to the top high school football player in Chemung County. The Ernie Davis Award recipient will be officially announced at noon on Thursday, December 18th at the Elmira Kiwanis Club luncheon at the Elmira Holiday Inn-Riverview.

 

Ronald McDonald Pop Tab Collection

Riverside Elementary School students are collecting pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House; students are demonstrating ways to recycle as they raise funds to support families and children in need.

Students at Riverside Elementary are participating in a “Pop Tab Collection” this holiday season. As they collect pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, students are demonstrating ways to recycle as they raise funds to support families and children in need.

 

E.H.S Interact Club participates in "Pulsera Project"

Elmira High School Interact Club students are selling “pulseras,” handwoven bracelets made by young Nicaraguan artists. The bracelets are $5.00 each and sale proceeds will go toward Nicaraguan children’s charities, shelters, and other programs for Nicaraguan youth.

 


After School Activities Cancelled

Tuesday, December 9th: Due to the impending snowstorm, all after school activities are cancelled for today.

 

Salvation Army Holiday Food Drive

Our district is participating in The Salvation Army of Elmira’s holiday food drive. Donated food items will be used in holiday food baskets for those in need. On Thursday, Social Club staff members at Pine City Elementary School gathered to display what they’ve collected so far.

 

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

The Elmira High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held its 1st Annual Induction Ceremony on December 1st. Congratulations to our new members!
