Coburn students "Chalk it Up"

On June 16, students surrounded the sidewalks around Parley Coburn Elementary School in positive messages and pictures. Not only was this in preparation for the Elmira street painting festival in July, but it was a great way for students to express themselves in a positive way. Messages included "School Rocks!" and pictures included the Cat in the Hat.

 

Fassett celebrates literacy with cake contest

Riverside dragon made from bottle caps

On June 16, Riverside Elementary students revealed their 16-foot mosaic dragon. This year, the Riverside Green Team has focused on recycled art. Kindergarteners created art from everyday objects, first grade made two quilts from recycled clothes, and second graders made the giant dragon.

6th graders enjoyed “Mountain Day”

6/13/2014

All sixth graders in the district participated in a Mountain Day June 13 at First Arena. This is one of several orientation events designed for students from Beecher, Broadway, Coburn and Hendy schools to get to know one another. In September, all 7th graders will attend Broadway Academy (currently Broadway Middle School).
