Instructional Leadership Week 2009

Instructional Leadership Week 2009 is scheduled for July 21-24. Administrators only will meet July 20. The event will take place in the EFA Community Room from 8 a.m. To 3:30 p.m.

Instructional Leadership Week is July 20-24 for all district administrators and teachers

The district will host its annual Instructional Leadership Week where more than 100 teachers and school administrators will gather for school and district planning. This year's theme is: Student Success is in Our Hands. To read the welcome message to staff from Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter, click here.

Staff will focus on two key areas in this week-long workshop and planning session:

  1. How to improve student performance, especially in the shadow of renewal of No Child Left Behind and its current Adequate Yearly Progress provision, which some considered from the outset to be an unfunded mandate, and
  2. How to deal with declining fiscal resources.

Judy F. Carr, Ed.D., and Douglas E. Harris, Ph.D., co-directors of the Center for Curriculum Renewal, are conducting much of the workshop training. For more information about Standards-Based Learning, click here.
