The Elmira City School District currently has the following two positions available:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Administration is responsible for personnel activities of the school district as well as providing leadership and direction to the Building and Grounds and Transportation departments consistent with the District's strategic plan, mission and vision. Essential management decisions of this position will affect the District's five unionized employee groups as well as the District's non-unionized employees. The following are key elements, which include the recruitment of staff, retention of quality employees, maintenance and support, establishing effective labor relations with the unions and interpreting collective bargaining agreements. This position requires researching potential employee misconduct and applying appropriate disciplinary procedures. The Assistant Superintendent of Administration will work in collaboration with the Superintendent and other district staff.

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Instructional Leadership Team and making decisions consistent with the District's strategic plan, mission and vision. Essential management decisions of this position will affect the District's instructional program as well as the school's ability to meet the instructional needs of students. The following are key elements, which include identifying District and school needs regarding instructional program and outcomes, reviewing data and making data-driven decisions, conducting program evaluations where appropriate, establishing effective relations with all unions, clearly communicating and articulating change efforts in the District. This position requires researching best practices and applying appropriate remedies and solutions to meet the District's needs. The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment will work in collaboration with the Superintendent and district staff.

New York State requires fingerprinting of all school district employees, which currently costs $94.25.
It is the responsibility of the employee to pay this fee, and it should be paid at the time of hire using a Visa, MasterCard or debit card. If the prospective employee does not have a credit/debit card, prepaid cards may be purchased at most local grocery stores or pharmacies. Please make sure your card is activated prior to your fingerprinting appointment with our district's Human Resource Department.
