Corning Credit Union Student-Run Branch at Elmira High School
Corning Credit Union and Elmira High School held an official ribbon cutting ceremony for Elmira High School’s new student-run Corning Credit Union branch on October 22, 2015! The ceremony was the culmination of a year-long project to open the branch, which will provide real-world workplace skills and professionalism education to student interns as well as opportunities for financial education to students throughout the high school.
“I am very excited about this partnership between the Corning Credit Union and Elmira High School and the unique opportunity it will provide for our students,” said Hillary Austin, Elmira City School District Superintendent. “It is amazing to see the results of many months of planning as we officially open the branch. I am eager to see what our students will learn, the skills they will develop, and how this first-hand experience will help them as they plan out their futures,” added the Superintendent.
The branch will officially open for business on Thursday, October 29th!
