Academic Intervention Services for the 2017-18 School Year

  

In accordance with New York State regulations, the Elmira City School District has identified the following steps for identifying students in grades 3-8 to receive Academic Intervention Services (AIS) for the 2017-2018 school year.

 

The Elmira City School District will use the following process to identify students who shall receive AIS:

 

STEP 1: All students performing below the median scale score between a level 2/partially proficient and a Level 3/proficient on a grade 3-8 English Language Arts (ELA) or mathematics state assessment are eligible for AIS (see shaded columns in tables below).  See Chart A and Chart B below.

STEP 2: Once a student is identified for consideration for AIS, the district will then consider a student’s scores on another measures of student performance. See Chart C

 

STEP 3: Students scoring below on both the state cut point (shaded area) and grade level of a second measure the student is required to receive AIS. See Chart C

 

STEP 4: For students who do not have a state assessment score two other assessment measures will be used to determine if the student is required to receive Academic Intervention Services. See Chart C
