The Elmira City School District is pleased to acknowledge your interest in our district. Before your candidacy can be considered, your application file must be complete. A complete file includes the following:
Letter of Interest
Completed Application of Employment (downloadable by clicking on link at left. It is NOT an electronic form -- you must print the form out and complete by hand.)
Résumé
Three written current letters of reference (Not more than three years old. Must have date and signature.)
Copies of your Undergraduate and Graduate transcripts. (Not Internet copies. Must be on school letterhead.)
Photocopy of your New York State Teaching Certification.
When all of these pieces of information are on file in the Personnel Office, your application materials will be considered complete. Every application packet will be reviewed, but it may not be possible to interview each applicant. Application materials are kept in our active file for one year. If your application is selected for an interview, you will be notified.

New York State requires fingerprinting of school district employees. The cost is $99.
It is the responsibility of the employee to pay this fee. However, the Elmira City School District will enter into an agreement in which at the time of fingerprinting you pay the district $19 by check or money order payable to the Elmira City School District. The remaining $80 may either be paid in full at the time of fingerprinting or be deducted from your paycheck according to the following schedule:
Full-time positions of 30 hours or more and/or receiving benefits agree to have $16 deducted from their pay every two weeks until the fee is paid.
Substitute or part-time positions of 25 hours or less and without benefits agree to have $8 deduced from their pay every two weeks until the fee is paid.
