The
3rd grade students at Parley Coburn were lead through their cultural
experience on Africa by Merinda Ellis who performs with the Wo'se Dance
Theater Group.
The students under her direction learned
many different authentic African dances. They have learned how to play
traditional drum music and sing authentic songs. The students also made
necklaces and masks and participated in other African cultural
activities. Their festival brought the students together as tribal
communities in traditional celebrations.
